"Linemen" by Dan Flores

" What we do as linemen may appear easy but the fact remains, people are still killed and injured as we provide dependable electric service.  Modern society, in many cases, has taken what we do for granted.  We are in the era of instant gratification.  People can live without phone or cable TV but the sedentary lifestyle is lost without electric power.  It means so much when a customer says thank you or you see a thumbs up when the transformer fuse is closed.  We work in the rain, we work in the cold, and we are polite even when we don't feel like it.  Linemen are an essential part of commerce that delivers a hand crafted American made product door to door. We're held to a higher standard than ever before and we still get the job done.  We are invisible, working in the shadows and in the dead of night and yet, we are always in the public eye."
